We do know the tribe of Judah used the symbol of a Lion. The scripture says the Lord is the Lion. We have
found the Lion is from the Root of David, who is Christ. It is Christ who has been given authority over Satan
and Michael, the archangel, wages the war to cast Satan down out of Heaven. We can see Christ’s authority given
in Revelation 12:10 and Satan knows he has but a short time before he is thrown into the abyss.

Revelation 12:10-12 “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation, and the
power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of
our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.”

11 “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their
testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.”
12 “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short
time.”

What does R. Jamieson’s commentary have to say about the downfall of Satan? There are four gradations in the ever
deeper downfall of Satan: (1) He is deprived of his heavenly excellence, though having still access to heaven as man’s accuser, up to Christ’s
first coming. As heaven was not fully yet opened to man (Jn 3:13), so it was not yet shut against Satan and his demons. The Old
Testament dispensation could not overcome him. (2) From Christ, down to the millennium, he is judicially cast out of heaven as the accuser
of the elect, and shortly before the millennium loses his power against Israel, and has sentence of expulsion fully executed on him and his by
Michael. His rage on earth is consequently the greater, his power being concentrated on it, especially towards the end, when “he knowingly
that he hath but a short time” (Rev 12:12). (3) He is bound during the millennium (Rev 20:1–3). (4) After having been loosed for a

while, he is cast for ever into the lake of fire.
We do know through scripture that Satan will be bound for a thousand years in the abyss which will be during
Christ’s Millennium Reign of this earth. This is the same abyss where the fallen angels have been bound during
this day and age. The statement that Satan will be thrown into the abyss comes from Revelation 20:2.

Revelation 20:2-3 “And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and
bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so
that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these

things he must be released for a short time.”
It is a short time that Satan has left on this earth to deceive men. He shall empower the Antichrist, as a messenger to
deceive mankind during the Great Tribulation. On September 2393, we have arrived to the timeframe of Satan
being cast down to the earth to deceive mankind for several years and again after the Millennium Reign of Christ.
