Isn’t it more likely that Daniel 11 is prophesying about the Tribulation period versus that of the time of
Antiochus Epiphanes on his throne in 175 BC? Perhaps the events of Antiochus Epiphanes are a foreshadowing
of the events in the final End Times. Michael the Archangel said this was prophetic to the Final End or End
Times, which has been recorded in scripture using the Hebrew word תי ִרֲחאַ acharith. Therefore, we know that
175 BC is not the final end to this world. Christ had also told us that the desolation would occur in the time of
Great Tribulation as well. Let us begin interpreting Daniel 11 as prophetic scripture relates to the End Times.

Daniel 11:2-4 “And now I will tell you the truth. Behold, three more kings are going to arise in Persia.
Then a fourth will gain far more riches than all of them; as soon as he becomes strong through his
riches, he will arouse the whole empire against the realm of Greece. And a mighty king will arise, and he
will rule with great authority and do as he pleases. “But as soon as he has arisen, his kingdom will be broken
up and parceled out toward the four points of the compass, though not to his own descendants, nor
according to his authority which he wielded, for his sovereignty will be uprooted and given to others besides
              them.”
                     86
Bible scholars believe the “mighty king” refers to Alexander the Great, who conquers Persia and assumes world
dominion. Daniel writes there would be a “mighty king” and that his kingdom will be parceled out to four points
on the earth. Four of his generals divided the empire into four geographical areas each ruled by one the generals.
These four regions where: Macedonia and Greece, Asia Minor including Turkey, Syria and the remaining Middle
East and the last region was Egypt and northern Africa. In today’s world, the countries that occupy this Persian
Empire region are: Iran which is modern day Persia, Iraq, Northern Egypt, Libya, Cyprus, Greece, Lebanon,
Jordan, Israel, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and part of northwestern India.

Most of these countries were conquered by Alexander the Great, Tamburlaine, a Mongolian Conqueror, and
Genghis Khan in past history. I find it interesting that in 2011, the United States was involved in three of the
