witnesses represent the Jewish people, through Elijah as well as the Gentiles in the world by Enoch. What we do
know is that they are human witnesses given their description. Scripture has always required two witnesses to
bear testimony to anything that needs a confirmation of truth. This is contrary to the False Prophet; who is one.

Matthew 18:16 “But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH
                                                                            200
OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.”
These two witnesses are given unlimited power and authority. They can control the rainfall on the earth. They are
also able to turn water into blood and smite the earth with plagues. It is the reason why some scholars believe
that the second witness is Moses, who had brought the plagues upon Egypt during the Exodus of Israel.

Revelation 11:6-9 “These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days
of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike
the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war
with them, and overcome them and kill them.
8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and
Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
9 Those from the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their dead bodies for three
and a half days, and will not permit their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.”
                                                                                            201

The two witnesses will finish their testimony which will last for 1260 days on the earth. In the middle of the
Tribulation the Antichrist will return from the South to Jerusalem. He will order the False Prophet to kill the
witnesses. Four days prior to the “Abomination of Desolation” of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, the Antichrist
receives authority. To get a better understanding of these events see chapter “War and Desolation” in the book
entitled: “Heavenly Signs – Grand Design of Christ’s Return.” The first expressed authority will be to kill the two
witnesses before the desecration of the Temple. Please notice that the False Prophet comes out of the earth in
Revelation 13:11; while, the Antichrist comes from the sea that symbolizes the worldly nations as stated in
Revelation 13:1. It is the False Prophet, the beast from the abyss, who makes war with the two witnesses and
kills them both and leaves their dead bodies in the street. Christ received a proper burial after He was crucified.
But, their bodies are left in the street and are not permitted to be buried. This is similar to the Islamic treatment
of an extremist, a Christian infidel, by not permitting their burial. It is Islamic tradition to behead someone, who
believes that Christ was the Son of God. Islamic fundamentalists don’t believe in the Deity of Christ and that
Christ was crucified on the cross. Their Islamic symbol is a crescent moon and a star. The Babylonian moon god,
“Sin” was the “Lamp of Heaven and Earth.” Islam condoning killing is unlawful. The God of Abraham gave the
Law to Moses which says “You shall not murder.” Islamic followers are deceived by Satan, since they do not believe
that Christ came as a redeemer; but, declare they serve the same God as Abraham. The scripture doesn’t say how
the two witnesses are killed. But, they have prophesied since the very beginning of the Tribulation for 1260 days.

Revelation 11:10-12 “And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate; and
they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the
earth. But after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God came into them, and they
stood on their feet; and great fear fell upon those who were watching them.

12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” Then they went up
into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.” 211
