What are the events that follow after the Temple has been properly restored? This will be marked with events
which lead up to the start of the Tribulation. One of those events is in the statement that there will be rumors of
war but that is not the end. We will look at that subject in the next chapter. First we shall look at the
representation of the timeline that is marked by two periods of time. Relative to a timeline, we shall use the seven
year period of time divided into two three and one-half year periods (1260 days) as a reference to the End Times.
This seven year period of time is referred to as one week in prophecy in the book of Daniel.
Daniel 9:27 “And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the
week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one
who makes desolate even until a complete destruction one that is decreed is poured out on the one who
68
makes desolate.”
This beginning period of time we will refer to as the “Tribulation” period of 1260 days or three and one-half years.
Even though there is disagreement among Bible scholars regarding this interpretation as being correct, we could
nd
st
easily label the periods as 1 half and 2 half of the Tribulation period or that of Daniel’s week. Likewise, the
Great Tribulation could be marked by the beginning of the “Day of the Lord” or the “Wrath of God”, which we will
see is the correct delineation. We will later change the timeline to reflect this delineation. We will initially leave
off the marking of the “Day of the Lord” from the timeline until it has been revealed by God’s Wrath. Christ used
the terms both Tribulation and Great Tribulation in His Olivet Discourse recorded in Matthew 24. Christ used
the term “Great Tribulation” after the “Abomination of Desolation” in Daniel. Therefore, we will use them for
convenience and tradition; even though the terms may not be biblically correct for marking the time periods.
This is an important issue to understand up front. We will see that prior to the desolation of the Temple that the
Great Tribulation starts. This book will address the events through the Tribulation and including events prior to
the Tribulation period as well as events during the Great Tribulation. The second half is referenced in Revelation
12:14 as the women being nourished for 1260 days in the wilderness that is the remnant of Israel. We will later
find out that the “Day of the Lord” or the “Wrath of God” is longer than 1260 days and is not marked by the
desecration of the Holy Temple.
Revelation 12:6-7 “Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared by God, so
that there she would be nourished for one thousand two hundred and sixty days. And there was war in
69
heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war,”
This event of fleeing into the wilderness is preceded by the dragon, which is Satan, being thrown down to the
earth. The last 1260 days occurs after the desecration of the Holy Temple.

When we see the “Abomination of Desolation” of the Holy Temple, this event will help us mark the second half of
the seven year period of time mentioned in Daniel. Christ also spoke of this in the Gospel of Matthew.
